Now that Melbourne is starting to get some decent Spring/summer weather, my tomatoes are on the way up. Meanwhile, The Melbourne Tomato Festival is on the way south. The 2017 MTF is heading to All Nations Park in Northcote, a wonderful central space close to PT and simply a lovely large space to bring the whole family to. We are proud to be sponsoring this event again , and Home Make It will be there in force, with hands on Passata demo's all day ( so please don't wear white ). So lock in the 19th March 2017, and bring the whole family down for a day of celebrating sauce making , food , drink & fun. From 10am to 2pm they will be hosting some of the best craft producers around at it's Crafty Christmas Market. There are amazing products covering the whole spectrum of craftiness, and even a hamper packing service if needed. For many family's, special gatherings & meals at Christmas time would not be the same without the most regular guest on the table, the Pannettone. A light & airy sweet bread originating from Milan, the Panettone is a not only edible , but also a symbolic gift you give loved ones during special times. Sure you can buy one, but where is the fun & love in that ? So we've come across a great article & recipe on the Fresh Loaf website that documents a bread makers first try at Panettone. It's a great read & recipe. So before you buy your Panettone this year, try this recipe & you won't look back. It's always better home made :)

“Home Make It is a retail store specialising in the sale of equipment and supplies to make homemade food and beverages. Home Make It is seeking a Retail Assistant on a Casual basis for its Reservoir store and Clayton Store.Home Make It require the applicants with experience in making homemade wine. Suitable candidates will be able to competently and confidently provide wine analysis by both mouth feel and equipment. They should be able to confidently measure Ph. and Baume, as well as find fault with wines and provide guidance to our customers. The applicants would also be required to sell the appropriate additives as required.
Ideally the applicant would have retail experience and a passion for homemade food and beverages, such as passata, salami, sausages, pasta, cheese, preserves, homebrew and wine.
