Home Make It stores in Clayton & Reservoir are open until 3 pm on Christmas Eve for your last-minute shopping needs. We will reopen after our Christmas break on Monday, 7th of January, 2019.

The Home Make It warehouse will be closed from Friday, 21st of December, 2018 until Monday, 7th of January, 2019. No orders will be delivered within this period.

2019 Prosciutto, Bacon and Ham Course

Learn how to make fabulous Prosciutto, Bacon & Ham with Peter Booth, the author of A Charcuterie Diary, the only complete work in Australia on charcuterie production. The book, published in 2017, recently received an award from Gourmand International Cookbook Awards.

The demonstration-style class will cover how to prepare/butcher a prosciutto, bacon & ham. The technique for whole muscle charcuterie production of several products will be discussed & demonstrated, including speck & kaiserfleisch.  Basic smoking techniques will also be discussed & demonstrated. Comprehensive notes will be provided.

You will be spoiled with some delicatessen meats made during the course & a $20 HMI Voucher to get you started.

2019 Introduction To All Grain Brewing Workshop

Learn how to make great homemade all grain brew from scratch & impress your family and friends!

Our two hour Introduction to All Grain Brewing Workshop will give participants the opportunity to brew an all grain beer alongside one of our home brew specialists.  The workshop will begin by covering the equipment needed for all grain brewing.We will review the ingredients used in all grain brewing & how they contribute to your final brew.

You will also learn how additives can be used to improve your beer. Different methods of all grain brewing will be covered & you will take home a few recipes to help you get started on your journey of all grain brewing.

You will take home an HMI All Grain Kit with the malt, hops & yeast needed to start your first batch.

Learn how to make tomato sauce/passata at home with this easy workshop.

This workshop is offered at our store & covers the following areas and techniques:

  • Tomato sauce/passata making equipment
  • Tomato selection
  • Tomato sauce/passata making issues & solutions
  • Tomato sauce/passata additives
  • Tomato sauce/passata making methods
  • A batch of tomato sauce/passata will be made on the day

At the end of the evening a light supper is provided, cooked pasta using the freshly made passata/tomato sauce. Customers also get to take home a jar of unpasteurised passata to enjoy!
