We have been busy expanding our range of instructional and educational books in Italian cooking, preserving, sausage and salami making, cheese making, wine making, beer and cider making. Below are some titles currently available at our Reservoir and Clayton store or ONLINE.  There's heaps more available, so check them out ONLINE or visit us in store.  


~ Melbourne Salami Festa ~

Have you entered your prized homemade salami into the Melbourne Salami Festa competition? Click here for all the details you need to know to enter the competition. The winners will be announced at the festa on the 18th October, 2015. This is a ticketed event only and will be sold out, so get in early and book online! Tickets will go on sale 9am Tuesday 15th September, 2015. Who will be crowned Judges choice for the 2015 "Best salami in show"? There will also be a "People's Choice Award" as well as "The Salami Suburb Award" Last year "St Kilda" took out this coveted award. Which suburb will win the most votes from the Judges Choice Award to take out the 2015 Award? There are some great prizes up for grabs including our Home Make It vouchers and salami making equipment.  


Since the inaugural Melbourne Salami Festa in 2012, the festa has grown from strength to strength in both popularity and program, and this year is no different! The 2015 Melbourne Salami Festa is going to be a massive celebration of the beloved salami, spanning over three days, with three separate events, including an Opening Night Party on Friday 16th October, 2015, a Festa Eve Market Night on the Saturday 17th October, 2015 and of course the main event on Sunday 18th October, 2015. ~ Brew & Bangers Classes  ~

Learn to make home brew and sausages from the experts! Join our Steve Lamberto and James Mele from The Meat Room and enjoy a fulfilled day making home brew and fresh sausages at these brilliant Brew & Bangers classes. These are full day classes, and you get to take home the freshly made home brew and sausages. Lunch - pizza from the wood fired oven, morning tea, unlimited tea/coffee, and home brew tastings included. All equipment and ingredients are supplied.

~ Eltham & District Winemakers Guild - 46th Eltham Wine Show ~


If you love a good drop of red or white wine, and have an interest in homemade wine, then don't miss Eltham and District Winemakers Guild's 46th Annual Eltham Wine Show. Due to the huge success, the show will again be held at the Veneto Club in Bulleen on Sunday 15th November, 2015 from 10.30am for the Wine Show Public Tasting, concluding at 2.30pm with the Awards Presentation at 12pm. If you are planning on entering your homemade wine into the competition, the closing date for entries is the 10th October, 2015. You can pick up an entry form from either our Reservoir or Clayton stores or you can enter ONLINE.


~ Private Cooking Demonstration ~

Giulia, with the help of her sisters invite you to her Private Cooking Demonstration on the 20th September, 2015 at 11am. Learn to cook traditional Italian food in Giulia's home in a intimate group setting. On completion of the cooking demonstration, lunch will be served and all food sampled and enjoyed with wine. Numbers will be limited, so avoid disappointment and book early! Just to wet your appetite, the menu will include an assortment of Giulia's homemade biscotti, arancini bolognese, homemade spinach tagliatelle, served with hot smoked salmon sauce and ricotta tarts. ~ Cade's Home Brew News ~ 

Hi Brewers,

Now that winter is over and spring has sprung, home brewers all over are rejoicing at the perfect fermenting weather. So now is the perfect time to brew like you never have before and stock up for summer! We have plenty of grains in stock, a broad selection from the Australian Joe White, to Briess from USA and Gladfield malt from New Zealand to name a few...

We also have a comprehensive range of White Labs and Wyeast liquid yeast sitting in our fridge to compliment your recipe. And to give your brew some punch, drop in one of the fridge full of hop varieties we have in store. Dank, fruity, spicy or piney..we have it!

We have now released new dates for our Sausage Making Courses at both our Reservoir and Clayton stores. James Mele will teach you everything you need to know to make fresh, tasty, healthy sausages all year round. Book ONLINE now to secure your place.   


Camembert Cheese Making Course

Learn how to make Camembert cheese also at our hands on, informative and fun workshops with artisan cheese maker, Gerard. The workshops will be offered at both our Clayton store on the 22nd September from 6pm until 9pm and our Reservoir store on the 29th September, 2015 from 6pm until 9pm. Book ONLINE
