This photo of our youngest family member stands out from our recent Passata Day. It captured the essence of what Passata Day means to our family. It's about family spending quality time together, the passing down of skills and traditions from one generation to the next, it's preserving an age old Italian tradition and it's about working together young & old to achieve a shared goal. If you would like to see some more photos from our 2013 Passata Day, just click on our Facebook link. This photo was also featured on Grossi's Ombra's"Friends of Ours" blog :) Check it out!
The Tomato Season has almost come to an end. It's been a long hot summer, but it hasn't stopped the many thousands of families over Melbourne committed to family Passata Days. It seems that there has been a real resurgence in the number of families and friends going back to, or starting up the age-old Italian tradition of preserving tomatoes. We hope that you will join us next year, as we all do our bit to preserve the Italian Passata way - whether you process them raw, boil or blanch. It's your method, your heritage, your tradition and your history in the making! Embrace and celebrate it! It doesn't matter which nationality you are, age or gender. Who wouldn't love fresh and sweet tasting tomato sauce all year round? Here's a quick YouTube clip featuring The Biasotto Annual Passata Day for an insight into the many different methods and family traditions that is "Passata Day!".
To end the season we are offering MASSIVE discounts for all our equipment and supplies for making tomato sauce. Start planning for next year and take advantage of the many special discounts on offer now. More specials are also in store.
This years vintage is looking like a real bumper season, and much welcomed by farmers and winemakers after a couple of dismal vintages the last couple of years.
